Whenever we start to work on a new interior design project, we suggest that our clients look through the pages of the latest interior design magazines at the newsstand and tear out photos of rooms that appeal to them. This is a great way to start a conversation about their personal likes and dislikes, particularly if this is the first time they’ve hired an interior designer.  Luckily, the October issue of House Beautiful is on newstands now, and as usual it’s full of colorful rooms that inspire. In particular, we (meaning us and our new client) loved the Scarsdale home featured in the Be Daring with Color story designed by Pat Healing of HB Home and photographed by Maura McEvoy. Healing combines lavender, chartreuse and aqua in small doses to make a home that feels “crisp and happy–so happy.” Notice the gold leaf ceiling in this amazing living room. That takes some courage and the effect is so glamorous. We adore the lavender curtains hanging from the gold pole and rings. The dining room is equally fabulous. We recognized the de Gournay Askew wallpaper- and we loved how it was paired with HB Home upholstered chairs covered in a lilac silk mohair. You can find the HB Home furniture collection on the Kindel furniture website. We’re pretty sure that the color violet, which has been appearing in fashion for months, is here to stay. We couldn’t be happier. Now we’ve got to find a way incorporate it into our next project. Thanks House Beautiful editors!
