A few weeks ago we asked your opinion on some fabric schemes for a teen girl’s bedroom we’re working on. As it often happens with clients after we show them the first round of schemes, the sisters weren’t in love with any of the preliminary fabrics. Back to the drawing board! With a little more guidance as to what the girls wanted and a few inspiration photos, we came up with a new fabric scheme that pleased everyone. Here are a few of the inspiration photos the girls showed us. Both feature colorful Quadrille fabrics and upholstered headboards — two of the musts on the girls’ wish list. The two twin headboards will be upholstered in the multi color ikat below. The turquoise and yellow fabric (bottom left) will be used for decorative pillows for the beds and the solid turquoise will be on the x benches, one on each end of the beds.Great Matouk sheets…This large scale photograph is an image from Vogue’s archives. This will go above the dresser that will go between the two twin beds. One of these chevron chairs for the girls to curl up in and read a book…We’ve been dying to use West Elm’s new grass cloth covered parsons desks so we were excited when the girls approved it. We’re going to pair them with reproduction Saarinen tulip chairs and have the seat cushions recovered in a fun fabric.A great ceramic lamp to go on the dresser between the two beds.
