the greek key

It’s no secret that Greek key everything is a big trend going on in home design right now. We’re not usually into chasing trends, but this is one we are ALL over.  It’s inspired by Ancient Greece, so, how trendy can that really be?! We’ve been snapping shots of great greek key pieces, fabrics, and rugs all over the place for the past few months. Here are some of our favorite finds. We saw these bright green Greek key side tables yesterday at Lilian August: tablegreekgreenAmy Howard stools embellished with orange Greek key trim we saw at High Point in October. stoolsgrekkeyOne of our good friends, and favorite interior designer’s bedroom with a double dose of Greek key trim on the canopy bed.IMG_2567An elegant vintage Greek key side table. We loved this little table and went back a week later to see if it was still there, but alas, it was gone!greekkeytable2Our Favorite Greek key sconce, from Visual Comfort.greekkeylightA Thibault slipper chair spotted at High Point. thibautThe fabric and trim we’re using for the curtains in Abby Larson’s dining room.abbygreekkeyAn amazing rug in the Schumacher showroom in Boston. schumacher2A Stark carpet Greek key rug. This is going to sound silly, but I never really knew the term for this pattern! Thanks for the tip! I do love a little dash of this greek geometric but a little goes a long way, especially in painted finishes and vibrant colors.

MJ Trimmings sells some great greek key trim. I’m glad to know y’all are still into this pattern! I do like it, but wonder about it getting played out? Hopefully not, because it seems like a classic look!

Horchow has a great Barclay Butera greek key rug. It comes in navy or red. I got the navy from One King’s Lane. It’s gorgeous but does shed quite a bit…hoping that will stop. The price was better on OKL, of course. Love your website, book, blog, etc!!!!
