Back to the grind, we took a trip out to the North Fork of Long Island yesterday to shop for a couple of projects. There are some GREAT stores out there if you’re OK with vintage and antique pieces with a few imperfections. The upside to antiques with imperfections? They’re priced to sell! You can definitely find deals all the way up Route 25. Here’s L showing off a few of the items we purchased:A chic little metal one-off chair that would make a great desk chair. We bought this pair of Saarinen Tulip side tables for our office in NYC. This pair of demilunes stopped us in our tracks (most demilunes do!). These are special because they are side table height. We’re planning on using them on either side of an armless sofa in front of a pair of built-in bookcases. They’re a wonderful mix of wood and metal. A rattan and wood King size Knoll headboard. Not in perfect condition, but would be great for a beach house bedroom. We loved this pair of metal wire sculpture lamps. Wish we had a place for these!A beautiful rope and metal basket:We almost bought this table, below, for the foyer of our house in Rye. After closer inspection it was a little too crooked and wonky and it would have taken up way too much space in the back of the Volvo! This classic, McGuire glass top table is one of our all time favorite McGuire pieces. We would love to find a home for it!A fun little yellow stool that’s all charm. Wooden cube nesting tables…great for a small space. Beach house anyone? These rattan chairs have great high backs. We’d love to see them upholstered in a colorful print. A pretty round coffee table we considered but decided the scale was a little bit too small for the room. Bright green rattan chairs. These would be fun in any outdoor space or even at the kitchen table.
