Antiquing

Yesterday we went out to Locust Valley to visit some of the town’s great home design stores. We are searching for a few very specific pieces for two projects we are installing soon. There were so many beautiful things, we wished we weren’t looking for such specific items! Our two favorite stores are run by designers Andrew Maier and Meg Braff. Directly across the street from each other, both stores offer very curated collections of antiques and new pieces. In fact, both designers have their interior design studios in the back of their stores. Below, Andrew Maier had some lovely vintage rattan pieces from France. Isn’t this bistro chair, below left, fabulous? If only there were four of them–we would have snatched them up!

This is a malachite top table from Celerie Kemble’s line with Maitland Smith that we hadn’t seen in person yet.photo-2-3A couple of great garden stools. photo-2-6Braff has a nice mix of vintage and new pieces, like this faux bamboo chair, below. photo-1-10A fun pagoda lantern. photo-1-12An antique Venetian mirror. This piece would be lovely in a dressing room or over a dresser in a master bedroom. photo-2-2A great circular rattan mirror. photo-1-7If you’re ever in Locust Valley, you’ve got to stop by these two stores!
